Thomas Deacon Academy unveils its new multi-million-pound extension
On Thursday 27th September, Thomas Deacon Academy celebrated the official opening of its new South Entrance Extension with a launch event attended by special guests and dignitaries, who enjoyed a tour of the three-storey extension and an opportunity to talk to students.
The extension encompasses a state-of-the-art Sixth Form Study Centre, a Professional Learning Centre as well as a substantial enhancement to the dining facilities.
The Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Deacon Education Trust, Julie Taylor, accompanied The Regional Schools Commissioner, Sue Baldwin, who cut the ribbon to officially mark the occasion and other special guests included Peterborough MP, Fiona Onasanya and Peterborough council leader Councillor John Holdich OBE.
Geoff Walls, Principal of Thomas Deacon Academy, said: “We are thrilled with this new facility which has significantly improved the dining, working and learning space for staff and students. I am very grateful to all those who have been involved in making this happen.”
